Jason Lasher owns and runs Hunter Landing Equestrian with Kelly. Jason and Kelly ran a small hobby farm in Chenango Forks, NY for three + years prior to purchasing Hunter Landing and he has since become extremely knowledgeable in the care and handling of horses. He is a key player for day-to-day farm maintenance and ensuring property improvements continue to be made so that the property may reach its full potential. Jason is also savy to rotational grazing practices that are so important for our horses after having completed a course through Cornell Cooperative Extension.

Jason loves the animals and is seen out in the barn on a daily basis, always taking the initative to be hands-on with horses and customers alike.

Though Kelly entered into the professional ranks as a trainer in 2011 when she founded Hunter Landing Equestrian, she has trained, shown, and worked with her own horses independently prior to and since graduating from St. Lawrence University in 2005. She has brought along many young, green horses, preparing them for the world of hunter/jumpers. She does what she loves. Her childhood dream has come true - to teach horses and riders alike, at a facility that she can call her own.

Kelly (Gaffney) Lasher is the on-site instructor, trainer, and stable manager at Hunter Landing Equestrian. She and her husband have owned and ran the business since 2011.  She has been riding and showing horses since 1989.

"There are only two emotions that belong in the saddle; one is a sense of humor, and the other is patience." ~ John Lyons

Some of Kelly's major riding accomplishments include showing competitively at local, A-rated, IHSA, and AQHA recognized shows. She has attended shows stretching from Toronto, Massachusetts, Vermont, Virginia, Kentucky, Florida, Ohio, Texas, and various locations across New York State. Kelly was a three-time top ten winner in working hunter and equitation over fences classes at the AQHA Congress as both a youth and amateur rider. She also competed twice at the AQHYA World Show in Fort Worth, TX; on her second trip to the World Show, she finished first on the Working Hunter judges' card for the preliminary round, and was awarded 15th in the finals. Kelly also rode for the highly regarded St. Lawrence University IHSA Equestrian team, often as the over fences point rider. Upon attending St. Lawrence, she joined the riding team as an Open Flat and Intermediate Over Fences rider, and during that time was recognized as the Reserve High Point rider as well as the Regional Champion over fences as an individual.  During her time as owner/trainer at Hunter Landing Equestrian, Kelly has shifted her focus to working with off-track thoroughbreds, her true love, and has competed at the Retired Racehorse Project Thoroughbred Makeover in Hunters, Jumpers, and Field Hunters.
